Hi I'm Kathrine

I'm a mother of five. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a mother. I stay home with my children so that I can be there for them as much as possible. I love to cook, read, create things, garden, and listen to and play music. I also love to learn. I have worked on degrees in science and education and would like to continue to further my education. I also like to teach other children (and sometimes adults) to play the piano. I most of all love to have fun with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but was always taught that I should study and pray to find out for myself whether this church is true. My mother was not always a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she taught me how important it is to know for myself that the gospel is true. I took her advice as a child and prayed and read the scriptures. I listened to my teachers in church and to my parents when they taught us about the gospel. I felt the burnings of the Spirit and came to know for myself that the gospel is true. I now try to teach my own children and help them to find the truth for themselves. I know that my Savior lives and loves each of us as individuals. I know that there is a prophet on the Earth today. I know the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true and were given to us for our direction and help. The Mormon church has been an amazing blessing in my life. There have been many times in my life that I know if I had not had the knowledge that I have, things would have gone very differently, and I would not have found the great happiness that I now have.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to work with the people in my community. For almost six years my husband served as a Bishop and we were able to meet and help many people as a family. I loved the spontaneous opportunities that arose during that time and the wide variety of people that we met. We have always tried to open our home to those that are in need or that are lonely. Hopefully people know that they can come to us if they need help. I have served with the children in my area and taught them music. It was fun and somewhat challenging to keep the attention of a room full of children. I have also been able to work with the young women in my community. That was a wonderful experience in which I learned more than I was probably able to teach them. I love to meet my neighbors and work together with them to make our homes better places to live. Mostly I try to teach my children about living good lives and making good choices. I try to teach them to be kind and helpful to those around them. Raising five children is a full time job and sometimes very tiring and difficult, but one that I love more than any other. I hope that our home is a place where they can learn and find joy, where they can feel peace and happiness.
