Hi I'm Pandora

I'm a country girl, a wife, mother of eight, grandmother of seven, and I love watermelon and horses. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in SE Utah, next to red rocks and green mountains. My mother died while I was very young and my father remarried a few times. I felt like Cinderella, but all the while Heavenly Father was blessing me. I have two wonderful Aunts who taught me much by their love and examples. I've grown to realize that I could not have had a better childhood. I lived in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I grew up on a ranch, rode horses , moved cows, went swimming in our lake, ate all the watermelons I could hold, learned to work and learned to like it, and learned how much Heavenly Father loved and cared for me. My husband and I have 8 beautiful children, and our grandchildren are the BEST! Life wasn't and still isn't always easy, but I know I am never alone.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors embraced the gospel of Jesus Christ way back in the 1830's when two Mormon missionaries approached my fifth great-grandfather while he was at work. What he felt when they shared their testimonies and the Book of Mormon with him caused him to bring them home so that they could share it with his family. He felt the truth they were speaking. His family wholeheartedly accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ and the living prophet, Joseph Smith. They moved many times, leaving behind beautiful, hard worked farms. He built many gristmills for others to use. They endured much persecution for the beliefs they held dear to their hearts, yet they never once thought to return to their former life. I have thought of them often. I have read their journals, prayed and studied the scriptures they held sacred. I have had storms in my life, too. Through following their example, I have found my own testimony. I'm a Mormon because I cannot deny the answers I have had. I know that our lives are not in vain, that each moment counts, that each thought, action and deed are recognized. I know for myself that this is the only true church of Jesus Christ with the fulness of His teachings and His authority on the Earth. I know of His love for me. I've had so many experiences show me that. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know of His Atonement and the forgiveness and peace that comes from that. Prayers are heard, not always answered the way we want, but always answered. I'm so glad that He cares so much to give us a Living Prophet to help us in this journey of life.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith each day by the decisions I make, by trying to follow Christs teachings and becoming like Him. Each day I try to do simple things like being honest in all things, smiling, saying thank-you, being patient and calm and serving, looking for ways to help in the community, at church and at home. I try and look for the good in others. I love helping in the schools that our children attend. I served on the board of one of our county's barrel racing groups and always try to be helpful so that they will run smoothly. I love helping at the family history center. I help teach and serve the women of our church ward. I know that Christ served willingly and I desire and hope to be of a help to Him. I sometimes fail, but know that He still loves me and that each day is new and I can always try to do better.
