Hi I'm Laura

I work full time while my husband is in law school I am preparing to start a family and continue my education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a strong headed female who enjoys a challenge. I graduated from a small university with my bachelor's degree in political science. I had many wonderful opportunities to work with students and volunteer organizations to help people become more active in their communities. After doing a job I loved for two year my husband and I moved to Washington so he could start law school. I now work so that he can attend school. We do not have any children and are anxious to start a family someday. I am a lover of fun. We love to plan dinners with our friends and have people over to entertain. My hobbies include the arts. I was a dancer for 15 years and still like to bust a move in my front room or car. I acted in musicals and plays as a teenager. I now am a supporter of local theater and music. I still try to find opportunities to sing when I can. My dream would be to be a lead in a musical and have the ability to belt those solos. Although our budget is tight my husband and I love to travel. My long term goals include a lot of travel. I love to be somewhere that is new. It makes me feel alive and rejuvenated. One of our favorite locations to visit is Chicago. I have a wonderful family and enjoy spending time with them. I am blessed with some of the funniest siblings and enjoy just being with them. I have the most wonderful husband who allows me to be myself. I know I am better because of my associations with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I choose to be. I continue to be a member of his church because of the confirmation that I have had that this is the only true church on this earth. I know that God knows who I am and understands my weaknesses. I enjoy the feeling of home that encircles me when I walk into a church building. I am a Mormon because I have asked the questions, sought the answers and had the confirmation that God has a plan for me. God has given me a much better life than I could have ever imagined for myself. I believe because he is in everything, he is everywhere and because I want to make it home.

How I live my faith

I participate in church by working with the youth. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to see such a strong up and coming generation. They are funny, smart and focused. We teach them tasks that range from sewing to week long high adventure camps. We also teach them service and the importance of giving back to their community. I enjoy being able to sing in the choir organized by our church. It is fun to sing my praises to God. I would say that I live my faith mostly in my personal worship. I like those moments when I am in a quiet room and I can feel God. It is in those moments when I am reminded why I continue to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
