Hi I'm Olivia

I am a student, dancer,dance teacher and a poet.

About Me

I am university student pursuing two degrees: Dance and Psychology. I hope to become a dancing psychologist! When I am not at school I teach dance classes, write poetry and look for ways to have fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky to grow up in a home where I learned to love Christ and the Father. The truths that I learned directed my path, and even as I became a Latter Day Saint, I am grateful for family who also live a righteous life. The gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints deepened my understanding of my Savior and of all the principles I learned from and saw exemplified in my parents. I know that continuing to study the scriptures found in the Bible and The Book of Mormon and listening to leaders of the Church will help me stay on the right path.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures everyday, and talk to our Heavenly Father often through prayer. I get to go to church with people my own age every Sunday and listen to things that they have learned which in turn helps me to figure out things I can do to grow closer to God. I also have the opportunity to teach others who are interested in learning about the church along with the full-time missionaries.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons, or members of The Church of Jesus Christ do indeed believe in the Bible. There is no denying that it it is the word of God. Many people get confused thinking that we reject the Bible because of The Book of Mormon and that is not true at all. I study the Bible and the other scriptures side by side because they are all equally important in my relationship with My Savior. I do believe that God did not stop giving us guidance after the words we read in the Bible, but that there are other scriptures He wants us to study as well. Show more Show less

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

The church building that everyone is welcome to attend on Sundays is a place where we meet to learn about Heavenly Father, and the scriptures, take the sacrament, and get encouragement from one another. We sing Hymns and listen to speakers and also have interactive lessons. Temples are buildings meant for different gatherings. The Temple, just as in the Bible are the Houses of God. Here we participate in things that help us come closer to God and learn things that help us understand how to live our lives in a way that pleases God. Show more Show less
