Hi I'm JamieRose

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife. I am a mother of two. I am disabled. I like Yoga. I like swimming. I like to crochet . I like to sew. I like to sing. I like to read. I like to find my roots in genealogy . I am a Mormon .

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I was baptist when I was a child,my family took me to church. I have always loved God, and the Bible. I went to church every chance i had. I loved learning everything about my savior I could. I wanted to tell everyone about Jesus in middle school. Then in high school I meet a boy who took my Bible and showed me things I had never seen before, taught me so many princaples of the gospel I never new. When he was finished he ask me what I thought and then told me he was a Mormon. I was shocked, but I new my destany lay with this new found knolege. I would be a Mormon. This young man is now my husband of 15 years. I love him, and I am great full he shared his believes with me. He is not as active or does not go as much as I do or have. I carry on not because of him, but because of my Father in Heaven. He sees me and he sees the example I am to my children. I love them and I want them to see how wonderful life is when you know your Heavenly Father. Showing them how much he loves them, you, all of us, his children.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church, serving in the church, remembering to pray, reading my scriptures, singing and listening to music. I also live my faith by listening to the spirit and doing the things others think of as silly sometimes. I have picked up people walking somewhere. I have given words of caution to strangers. I give out cards that allow others to receive a free DVD. I listen. I feed the missionaries. I help others. I offer help, when people are not asking. I am trying to be like Jesus. I know there is a plan for all of us, and we wake each day trying our best. The thing is we compare our selves and my best day just might be your worst.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

When we go to church we dressup, or wear our best. I found out it is preferred fo the men to wear white shirts, this is to help us think of Jesus. Ladies wear dresses. The way we dress shows love and respect for our Heavenly Father. As a congregation or group we celebrat Easter and Christmas at church, however we have other gatherings just to spend time together. These sometimes fall on or near other holidays not celebrated by the church. Church members celebrate holidays relating to personal and cultural holidays, such as here in America the 4th of July or in my family Birthdays and Anniversaries. Show more Show less
