Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a Mormon. I am a retired R.N. and I am a pianist. I love being a wife, mother, and a grandmother.

About Me

My hobbies and interests are sewing doll clothes for my grandchildren. Gardening, both vegetables and flowers, are interests I have. I love the beauties of God's handywork that I see in nature. Cooking and baking are enjoyable for me, also. At any family gathering, I am the person with the camera. I really enjoy taking pictures of them. My husband and I are both musicians and we have shared our talents in the church and the community. Generally, my husband has conducted choirs and I have accompanied them on the piano or organ at church. I have accompanied community/college choirs for several years as they have rehearsed for "The Messiah". For the performances I have played the harpsichord part in the orchestra as they performed with the choir. As a Senior Citizen I'm enjoying auditing a College Spanish Class for my personal enjoyment.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church. Because I was a serious, studious child I read the scriptures, asked my teachers many questions, and prayed sincerely to the Lord for answers. The Lord has answered my prayers and I have been guided by His spirit. I am grateful that our Savior atoned for the sins of mankind, that He died for us, and for His great love for us. For the knowledge that our family can be together forever because of our temple marriage, I am eternally grateful. I'm thankful to live in this time when the Gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fulness is here on the earth as prophesied by Isaiah and other holy prophets. My heart is full of gratitude that the Savior of the world stands at the head of this church, and that we have a prophet and apostles to guide us.

How I live my faith

In our church the Bishop asks us to serve in callings. At the present time I accompany our church choir as we rehearse weekly and sing in church services monthly. Another calling I have is being a Visiting Teacher. We are assigned individual women to visit monthly with an inspirational message. If these people are sick or in need of help, we are there for them. However, we are not limited to only helping them, for when others are sick we take food to them or lend a listening ear, also. When there is a funeral, we serve a bereavement dinner after the services. In past years I've had opportunities to organize parties and other special events. Participating in my church is an enjoyable way of life for me.
