Hi I'm Jim

I grew up in Washington. I loved sports particularly baseball. I love that i have an eternal family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up farming in eastern Washington. I went to Washington State University. Upon graduation I returned home to continue farming. I met my wife several years later and had two children before I was introduded to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the Church and its teachings. My family has been sealed to my wife and I, in the Holy Temple. My wife and I attend the Temple regularly. It is a place of inspiration, revelation, and learning. I am not perfect although I try to be a little better each day. My conversion came with tribulation and worry about what my friends and family would say, but it has been worth every second and something that I would not change. Except to have done it sooner. It has changed the way I feel about my wife and the relationship that I have with her. Without Christ in my life I know that our marriage would have ended as a statistic in the divorce courts, now I can't think of being without her at my side.

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned that through the Gospel of Jesus Christ I have the opportunity to live with my family through eternity. That thought helps me to think of the covenants that I have made with my Heaverly Father(God). Trying to live these perfectly is beyond me, but I know that through the Attonement of Jesus Christ my shortcomings can be made perfect. I know that He lives and loves me. He knows my strengths and weaknesses. As I strive to become perfect, which I never will in this life, he provides me strength and inspiration to choose the correct path. I realized that he watched over me and cared for me when my wife had our first child( a premature birth). I had to drive 150 miles as my wife was airflighted to Spokane,WA. I was worried about her ,about the baby and about the weather. It was a foggy night and I was trying to hurry. I said my first heartfelt prayer as I cried. The Holy Ghost whispered to me that I could drive carefully and safely. Both she and the baby would be OK and that I would be at the delivery. I slowed my speed and arrived safely for the birth of my daughter several days later. The Lord always delivers on his promises.

How I live my faith

I am just like anyone else. I volunteer with Boy Scouts America, work to help others in my community, and try to help those in need. The Savior taught these things in his ministry. I feel joy working with and for others to make the community a better place. I am not a vocal rah! rah! type. but a worker behind the scenes. I am happiest serving the Lord and watching over his flock. That doesn't mean just our church members, but all I come in contact with in my life. The Lord loves all his children even if they have not received all of his teachings yet. I can talk sports or life. I enjoy a good practical joke. I try to think of how the Savior would treat others.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jim
They share the message of our purpose in life. Why we are here on the earth? Where we came from? And What happens after our earthly life is over. The Saviour( Jesus Christ)through his attonement made all these things possible for each of us. All we have to do is live the commandments and covenants that we make in this lifetime.
