Hi I'm Justin Packer

I'm an outdoors enthusiast, a blessed Packer Family member, and a Mormon.

About Me

My father is an active duty Colonel in the Air Force. Consequently, I grew up all over the United States, saying goodbye to old friends and making new ones every 2-4 years. I have, however, always been blessed with church leaders that have set a great example for me, friends that have supported me, and a family that has been there for me and loved me. As a teenager, I worked with a couple different franchises and corporations, doing anything from food service to lifeguarding to live acting. School and education have always been the most important aspects of my life, though, aside from the gospel. I am currently serving as a missionary for the church in Long Beach, California. Once I return, I plan on studying Biology, going to medical school, and potentially becoming an orthopedic surgeon.. We'll see. Aside from church, school, and family, I've always loved playing sports, lifting weights, and running. Growing up, I played soccer, ran track, played baseball, basketball, football, even rugby, competitively. I also love the great outdoors (could be the years spent in Alaska..) - especially hiking, (mountain) biking, rock climbing, camping, kayaking, wakeboarding, and snowboarding. I believe that life is to be enjoyed and I've found that simply being with friends and family is the best way to do that.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, live and love us. I know that Christ lived and died for me and you, personally. I know, without a doubt, that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore Christ's gospel to the earth in these latter days so that we can have a chance to return, once again, to our Heavenly Father. I know that Thomas S. Monson has truly been called as a Prophet of the Lord, and that he continues to receive inspired revelation for us, in these latter days. I know the Book of Mormon, in addition to the Bible, is the word of God. I know that anyone that reads it, ponders its message, and prays to know if it really is divinely inspired, can receive their own personal confirmation of its truthfulness. I know these things to be true because I have received that personal confirmation. I have developed a strong testimony of Christ's gospel only after personal experiences and trials. I have personally witnessed the happiness that His gospel can bring into someone's life and, moreover, feel an obligation to share it with others. Through time, I have also come to realize that anyone - by exercising faith in Christ and His atonement, repenting, being baptized, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring all of life's trials by turning outward and serving others - can experience this constant feeling of love and happiness for themselves.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by starting and ending each day on my knees. I know that God's love for us and His ability to lift and strengthen us is real. When we have faith in and learn to rely on the Lord, blessings from Him become evident in our lives. I strive to come closer to Christ every day through my obedience to His commandments, by constantly developing His attributes, and by looking for ways to share what I know with others so that they can find more happiness in their lives, too.
