Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a husband, father, grandfather and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a working father with 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. I enjoy prospecting for gold and spending time outdoors. I like to read books (mostly sci-fi/fantasy) and play games on my computer when I have the energy to...

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a christian home but my family was not very tolerant of Mormons. I choose to become a Mormon shortly after marrying my wife who was a member. We were trying to decide which church to attend together. We went to her church and I felt very welcomed there. We went to the church I was raised in the next week, and the feelings of hatred coupled with the animousity that they showed towards Mormons was so bad that we just got up and left. They proclaimed to be a christian church but they showed no love towards their fellow man. I have since learned so much about Christ and His love for us that I can only pray that my family will one day see past thier blindness and follow Him in his true church.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving the Lord as a Ward Missionary. I did not serve a mission while I was young so He has given me the chance to serve one now.

What is being a Mormon like?

Jeff
I find that being a Mormon gives not only a more fulfilling purpose to my life but also a greater feeling of "oneness". Most people think that once you join a church you have to conform to that church's way of thought. To an extent this is true. But I have also come to find out that we have our "free agency" which has been given us by Heavenly Father which allows us the right to choose what we do. If we choose to do the wrong things (those which can have damaging consequences) we can still be forgiven and return to His Holy presence. We don't have to recite prayers that have been prepared for us by others, we don't have to pay a "sin tax" to recieve His forgiveness... Christ has already payed that. We are no different than anyone else in the world. We just have been shown the way that He wants us to grow so we can return to Him when our time here is done. Show more Show less
