Hi I'm Jaimee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy mom and wife. I am a nurse in a busy emergency room. I am a strong, independent woman with an awesome and supportive husband. I love to travel, and have been to 25-ish different countries. I love to work in my garden. I love to learn to cook new things. I love to meet new people and make new friends. I love living in the South, there are so many good, kind people. I get to work with youth groups at church. I sometimes feel like I am being pulled in 20 million different directions, but if I can take some quiet time in the garden and remember how awesome God and all his creations are, everything else seems to fall into place.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born a Mormon. I have stayed a Mormon because I am never happier than when I am living the teachings of the church. Nothing seems to flow right in my my life or my family's life when we are not living the way our Father in Heaven would want us to. I am truly grateful for the priesthood, God's power, given to men to act in his name. Without it I am sure my husband would not be alive today. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He truly knows and understands all of the sorrows and pains that I feel. He has felt them and I know I can turn to him for peace. I am so glad that as a member of this church I have been taught, and now know, that I will be with my family forever. I have felt the Spirit testify to me that I will be with my family throughout all eternity. There is a certain peace that comes with that, and I am so grateful for it.

How I live my faith

I work with the girls at my church between the ages 12 and 18. I get to help them prepare to be successful in their adult lives, spiritually, emotionally and temporally. I help them learn who they are and that God loves them and has a plan for them. It is awesome because when I do this work prayerfully and lovingly, I get a chance to feel a little bit of the love that God and Jesus Christ have for these beautiful young women. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I get lot of opportunities to serve. I am assigned to visit 3 women in the congregation every month. It is awesome to do this and get to know these women and their families. I am so busy that I mint not get the chance if I were not asked to do it by the church leaders. I have been a member all my life and I have seen first hand the awesome blessings that come from serving others. I try to teach my kids that quiet acts of service can mean so much to the people receiving them.
