Hi I'm Connie.

I'm a mother. I'm a professional writer. I'm a student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I should think that owning a hat shop would be what I do best; but I don't, I just wear a lot of hats well! I am a wife and chauffeur, a mother and student, a writer and homemaker, a friend and a short-order cook, an interior designer and a maid. I often wear these hats and more. Some hats are worn independently, some at the same time! The one that I always have on, no matter where I am or who I'm with, is the one that says, "I'm a Mormon."

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were introduced to the church when I was very small. I remember fondly the missionaries coming to into our home. I remember traveling to the temple in Salt Lake City to become a 'forever family.' I remember being in Sunday School for the first time and singing, "I Am a Child of God." And I remember turning eight and getting baptized by my Dad. Today, nearly 40 years later, I still choose to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is my anchor in life. Loving parents instilled Christ's gospel in me at a young age so that I could stay rooted in its teachings when the winds came and threatened to pull me away from my beliefs. I am so thankful for these gifts God has given me.

How I live my faith

I love to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, whether that be in front of a large congregation or to a single person as I sit across from them on the family room couch. I have willingly organized youth events, and I have edited newsletters. I have taught little children and adults. I have sung in the choir, and I have obediently filled cans of wheat for storage. As I have served and worn those various hats in the Church, I have come closer to understanding Christ, to cultivating a life emulating His. His ways are righteous and true, and I seek the truth of all things. It is my hope to share that truth with those around me in some small way. My faith is my rock. My inspiration. My guidepost. My life.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Connie.
There is great reason to celebrate the life of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph was an instrument in the hands of the Lord in restoring His truths here on earth. But we do not worship him. We only worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our Father in heaven. Show more Show less
