Hi I'm Isaac Turley

I play volleyball, I love New York, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Let's see what I can tell you about me.. Gilbert, Arizona is my hometown. New York City is my home away from home. I returned from serving a 2 year mission there in March 2015. That missionary service blessed my life in ways that I have only begun to comprehend. I come from a great family. I love to watch and play all kinds of sports, especially volleyball. I love the outdoors. Lake, dunes, mountains, river, ocean, desert, you name it. I really enjoy spending time with family and friends. Overall, I am the kind of easy going person that likes to enjoy life, learn from my mistakes, and be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up "the seed" of the restored gospel (the "Mormon" church) was planted in me by my parents and my church leaders. To be honest, I didn't do much to nurture that seed. I went through the motions and focused the majority of my attention elsewhere. The environment that I grew up in didn't offer much to make me question or challenge my beliefs, which at the time weren't even my beliefs. I was content, life was good. So there sat this seed, if you will, un-changing. It wasn't until here on my mission that I began to learn, through a lot of study, questioning and prayer, that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the truth. I know it because I try my best to live it, and I see the "good fruits" in my life. I can see the blessings that come from being obedient to God's laws. The Book of Mormon is evidence to me that God has once again restored Priesthood keys to the earth to prepare the earth for the second coming of Jesus Christ. I have also come to realize for myself that the Book of Mormon really is an additional testament of Jesus Christ. Don't take my word for it though. I would invite each of you to find out for yourself, study the Book of Mormon with real intentions. It can change not only how you view life, but how you live it, I promise. In summary, as I learn and live the gospel I continue to find that it is the key to our true happiness.

How I live my faith

I love to think of this life in the context of the Plan of Salvation. With the understanding I have about where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going, I consequently understand the importance of the choices we make while we are here. Jesus Christ taught us to come follow him. I live my faith in Jesus Christ by striving to do as he commands. Obey his commandments, live his teachings (love one another), and serve as he served. As I do these things, I feel good. I feel assurance in His promise that we shall gain eternal life.
