Hi I'm Dane

I grew up in Oregon. I am in the Air Force. I'm a Mechanical Engineer. I'm an outdoor enthusiast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Engineering Student. I am also currently serving in the United States Air Force. I love the outdoors including snowboarding, hiking, biking, and camping. I love trucks and offroad vehicles. I am getting married in November to a beautiful girl. She is the girl of my dreams and we are excited to start our lives together. We both are finishing up our degrees and we consider ourselves as ambitious, which unfortunately requires us to be on the road a lot as we complete internships.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon but in reality its me who has chosen to stay a Mormon. I love the church, in an ever changing world where morals are constantly beaten down, such as the family, love, and everyday standards, in the church I know there is always a place that will always stand for what is right. While serving in the military I have seen the influences of the world for better and for the worst. I have been so privileged to know the purpose of life and the knowledge of the life to come. I have seen that the true meaning to life isn't just trying to make yourself happy but to help those all around you enjoy the better things of life. The church has helped me to understand that its through selfless service that a person can find the greatest joy in life. My dear mother was always an example of this great selfless service. She with lived her life in the service of others from raising a family of 10 to helping young women grew to be wonderful ladies. In the later part of my moms life she was diagnosed with a terminal illness known as ALS, which gradually took her life. However in her last months of her life she continued to bless peoples lives and live strong with great faith in the life after death. We as her children and my awesome dad, along with great women had the great opportunity to return the favor of serving my mom. Service is the way by which the Savior always taught and it was the way by which I learned to become the man I am today with my many ambitions. I love the church I know it to be true with all my heart. I don't profess to be perfect only striving to be the best that I can.

How I live my faith

Being Mormon isn't merely going to church, but its a way of life. I have never been forced to live a certain way but I have been taught the way to live which will lead to the greatest happiness. Through the church I have found the way to true joy. I do go chose to go to church once a week on Sundays. I also have great opportunities to help others in my local ward. I serve my country honorably.
