Hi I'm Jack

I live in South Carolina and, yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a retired US Army Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel, residential building supervisor, and real estate brokerage manager. I live in South Carolina with my lovely wife -- and, yes, we're both Mormons. Previous avocations include parachuting and motorcycle riding. Today, they include my wonderful wife, my family and our relationship with God. My military experiences, spanning 30-years, include Special Forces and Intelligence operations in at least seven Asian nations over a 17-year period. After retiring, and as a change of pace, I spent 10+ years as a Residential Building company Operations Officer/Foreman, followed by 5+ years managing a Real Estate brokerage in South Carolina. But the greatest -- and most important -- part of my life is my faith in Jesus Christ, the love I know our Heavenly Father has for each of us as spiritual sons and daughters of Him here on this Earth, and the sure knowledge that Christ's church is restored in these latter days here on Earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the Mormon church). I remain a member today because I KNOW that we all are spiritual sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, that Jesus Christ, our Savior, came to this earth and fulfilled the most important mission in the world -- he brought to us our Heavenly Father's gospel, was a remarkable example for each of us to follow, He atoned for all of our sins, and through his crucifixtion, death and resurrection, He opened the gates for for the opportunity for eternal life for each of us. In addition, Christ's full priesthood was restored to this earth in these "latter days" (thus part of the name of His Church today). My wife converted to the Church, recognizing the truthfulness of the our Lord's gospel, including the full gospel available today to all those who are seeking to know more about our Heavenly Father and Jesus the Christ, and "fill a void" within their souls.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a "quiet example" . . . in other words, living the gospel by serving others in a manner as close as possible as taught by our Savior, Jesus Christ -- not by doing big, "splashy" things, but, rather, by quietly being available to help and assist all those I work with, am friends with, and to those with whom I attend Church. In the business world, I try to live with integrity in all I do, knowing that what I do and how I do it is much more important than telling people what I will do. I am convinced that "doing" the right things on a consistent basis carries far more worth to others than what I claim that I might do. And because it's so different than the general business world behavior, it has resulted in many of my co-workers asking why. And the simple answer is another question: isn't that what Christ would want us to do? And with that, the door is open to discuss the deeper spiritual needs and desires of individuals and share with them Christ's gospel -- His full gospel -- available to all in these latter days. In the Church realm, I try to live my life in a way that I am worthy to accept any assignments (or jobs) in our Church. In turn I am able to serve the needs of others, whether they be members of our Church or as non-members of our great Sumter community.
