Hi I'm Janelle

I'm a farm kid, a scientist, an animal lover, a world traveler, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to travel! I have visited Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Poland, Australia, Fiji, Norway, Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. The landscape, the culture, the people and the wildlife in every place have been varied, and incredible. I love the way seeing other places expands my way of thinking. I like to say I'm a Jill of all trades, master of none. I play soccer and softball with a work league, and enjoy the friendships I've made through being part of a team. I learned piano as a child, but have little opportunity to practice now. Sewing, knitting, crochet, water and snow skiing, yoga, jewelry making, working on cars, building things, cooking, reading and dance are all hobbies I pursue with some regularity. I'm always interested in learning something new, and have occasionally taken community classes to learn a new skill. My family are some of the most important people in my life. I am lucky enough to have a great relationship with my parents and my brother. They encourage me to explore new opportunities, and help me become a better person.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always believed in moral absolutes. They are taught in the Bible, and re-enforced in the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. While the world around me seems to have a perpetually changing set of morals, the church has a set of unchanging principles and guidelines that are based on eternal truth. As I live according to the truth I learn from my church attendance and Scripture study, I am blessed with peace and comfort that can not be found in any other way. Living my beliefs is not always easy, but it is worth the effort. I can find answers for personal questions through Scripture study, and find comfort in knowing I am doing what the Lord would have me do as I struggle with the daily trials that are an integral part of life.

How I live my faith

Attending church for three hours each Sunday is a blessing for me. While this surprises some people, I see it as an opportunity to be strengthened in my faith and to strengthen those around me. I am uplifted by the speakers, and relish the opportunity to fellowship with people who believe as I believe. Sunday is not the only day I worship. It is important for me to feel a connection with the Lord every day of my life. Reading Scriptures and prayer help me feel His love for me, and serving others allows me to show His love. I strive to be kind to everyone around me, no matter what the circumstance, and look for ways to make life easier for my family, friends and co-workers.
