Hi I'm Becca

I am an Army wife who loves my soldier and our life. I am a devoted, but imperfect mom of three. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom of three beautiful kids. I chose to stay at home with my kids because my husband is a soldier, and I wanted them to have extra stability at home when he can't always be there, and through the unavoidable transitions that come with military life. Being a mom is the best, hardest thing I've ever done. Spending time with my husband and kids is my favorite pass time. We love watching old Bugs Bunny cartoons together, or going out into nature to enjoy Heavenly Father's creations. When I get a few minutes of "me" time, I love to read classic literature, and design and create jewelry.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but I didn't always take for granted that I would be a Mormon. As a teenager, I truly wanted to find my own way and be sure that I was indeed on the correct path to God. I never doubted that there was a God, but since I had limited exposure to other religions, I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something somewhere else. My mantra in life is "All honest seekers of Truth will eventually find it." It took me a little time, but the more I looked around the world to find the ultimate truth, the more I realized that maybe it was in my own back yard all the time. I couldn't deny the peace I felt when I read the Book of Mormon. I couldn't deny the feelings of joy and love that I felt when visiting the grounds of Mormon temples. So I began my search again, but instead of searching other religions, I began a close and careful study of the Mormon faith. Slowly, line upon line, I began to understand God's plan for me and for all His children in a way I never had before. I began to find answers to questions I hadn't even thought to ask. The more I learned, the more everything fell into place, and Truth became apparent to me. But even more than the logic and understanding, my heart and soul were filled with the love of our Heavenly Father, and the joy that He desires to give to each of His children. I know I have found His True Church on this Earth. I know I am where He wants me to be. I know that all questions can be answered in His way, at His time, through His gospel.

How I live my faith

I love serving in our church! Over the years, I have had many opportunities to teach children and teenagers in Sunday meetings. I currently organize activities for the women in our area. I love getting to plan events that allow us to come together and fellowship together in the gospel.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Becca
Our church encourages our members to be active in the political process but absolutely does not endorse specific parties or candidates. We certainly consider our values when we vote, but in my personal experience, the church has strong members across the spectrum of political ideologies. I have discussed politics with Mormon Republicans, Democrats, Tea Party-ers, and Independents. While we may not always see eye-to-eye on political issues, at the end of the day, we are all disciples of Christ doing our best to live His gospel to the best of our understanding.
