Hi I'm Ryan

I am a convert to the Church, an Electrical Engineer, father and husband. I like skateboarding, music, fantasy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Maryland (near Washington D.C.), but joined the Church while in the Navy. I went on a mission to the United Kingdom and am now an Electrical Engineer. I am married, with 3 kids. I have traveled to many places in the world and have found the Gospel is the same everywhere. My favorite past times are playing with my wife and kids, skateboarding, music, electronics, and learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not raised in any church, but visited my grandparents once a year as a kid. They were members of the Church and very kind examples of the Gospel in action. I looked into various religious beliefs as a teenager, but never felt like any of them had any claim on the real truth. I met the missionaries while in the Navy. When they taught me, I felt that what they were saying made sense and that the principles were obvious for leading a good life. I gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon pretty quickly. This new information led me to baptism and gave me a fire to want to share this knowledge with everyone. It makes me so happy. Even when times are hard (and they will be), the Gospel gives me perspective on how to deal with problems. It shows that God loves all his children equally and is fair.

How I live my faith

Since joining the Church, I have served as a youth Sunday School teacher, Cubscout leader, Elders Quorum (men's group) leader, and adult Sunday School teacher. I try to think of what would be the right thing to do when making a decision. I try to lead my family by good example. I try to meet new people and see everyone as God would see them.
