Hi I'm Dennis

I'm a gold prospector, a ballroom dancer, and a 4-time Golden Gloves boxing champion. I'm happy to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired, but I still like to ride a motorcycle dirt bike, hang-glide, snow ski and scuba dive. I recently returned from Nome, Alaska, where I was gold prospecting. There is gold in every shovel on the beach! I teach ballroom dance classes for the City of Cheney Recreation Center. I have a wonderful wife and we have been married for 29 years. We love to cruise and see the world. I have 3 children, they each have 3 children. I am a very lucky man.

Why I am a Mormon

When growing up, my minister asked if there were any questions before I was baptized. At age 8, I asked him what it was like before this life, and what will it be like when I die? He laughed and said, "You will find out when you die." I thought my mother would be mad at me for walking out of that religion, but she understood me. A few weeks later, the Mormon missionaries showed up at the door. I was leery to let them in, but they said that they had the answers to me questions. Everything they told me made such natural sense to me, that at age 9 I wanted to be baptized. God loves me. He is my Father in Heaven. Jesus is my savior. It all makes sense to me.

How I live my faith

Having a good reputation is important to me. I try to give more to others than I receive, and to be honest at all times. I enjoy inviting neighbors to my home to play games and sharing my garden produce with them. Although I am weak, I try to be the neighbor and friend that Jesus would want me to be.
