Hi I'm Tom Reed

I grew up in Spokane, Washington. I am a computer programmer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 7 brother and three sisters. I am a dad with a wonderful wife and family. It is my most priceless treasure. I work for a large company that makes test equipment for testing such things as cell phones, my job is a computer programmer. I enjoy working with 3D computer graphics as a hobby along with learning other computer languages. I enjoy bicycle riding and playing video games with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ all my life. I found that as any convert, I had to find out for myself regarding the truthfulness of what I was taught as a child and teenager by my parents. I am a Mormon for several reasons. To know that I can literally speak to a loving Heavenly Father, and he is never too busy to listen to me, his child, this knowledge brings such great joy and peace to my heart. To know that I have a Heavenly Father that knows me and wants me to be with him again fills me with the desire to go through what ever life lessons He chooses to provide me. These life experiences are chosen to help develop me into the person He knows I can be, to be like Him. I owe everything to the Savior Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and Redeemer. He paid the Ultimate price necessary in order for all of Heaven Father's child to have the opportunity to return to our Heavenly home. I truly believe in Christ and know He Lives. I have felt lifted and filled with peace in times of great difficulty. Being a Mormon simply means I am a member of a much larger family of brother and sisters who live with me on this Earth.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the church and our community. I believe by serving each other I am really serving my Savior Jesus Christ. Service brings joy and happiness and is the antidote for selfishness. Loving, lifting and helping those around us is what the Savior would have us being engaged in. I am one of those people who is not afraid of work. I would be one of those who would be found quietly working on any church or community sponsored service. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of work related sponsored community service activities. I believe in being, acting and living the doctrines and principles I have learned, no matter where I am. I certainly respect the religious beliefs of others.
