Hi I'm Del

I am a wife and a lucky mom to two beautiful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Philippines where I earned my degree in accounting. I have worked as an accountant both in the Philippines and the U.S.A. but I consider my current job as the most fulfilling occupation. When my husband pursued his current occupation as a pilot, the constant move or transfer from one place to another opened other avenues for my learning and growth. I feel fortunate to stay home and raise our two beautiful children.

Why I am a Mormon

I attribute my religious affiliation and introduction to this church to my curious mother who loves to read good books. After reading the Book of Mormon she found in her friend's house, she began in earnest her search for the religion and the missionaries distributing the said book. Her conversion, baptism, and devotion to her newly-found belief led to everyone's curiosity inside the family circle. Each one took the challenge to investigate. Just like the rest of the family, I am grateful that I also embraced the gospel. I feel fortunate and grateful to have been exposed to beliefs and practices I feel should be present in a religion with Jesus Christ as the head of the church. Attending the seminary classes, I have studied and learned that whereas the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, is an ancient record of God's dealings with his people residing in the Eastern part of the world, the Book of Mormon is a record of his dealings with the people residing anciently in the Western part of the world or the American continent. I am grateful to learn that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. God cares for everyone because we are His children. I feel privileged to be a Latter-day Saint (LDS) or be called a Mormon because the teachings of the church make total sense of my being – answering questions where I came from, why I am here, and the life hereafter.

How I live my faith

Participating or serving in the church enables me to grow personally and spiritually. One of the things I get to do is meet and visit with other women in my community. We are able to have a healthy exchange of knowledge and experiences on certain topics. This provides an opportunity to form real friendships, enjoy sisterhood, witness the gospel in action, derive strength from each other, and acknowledge the hand of God as we reflect on life's ups and downs and daily miracles. The church freely offers a variety of classes and activities geared towards the temporal and spiritual development of every individual who takes advantage of it whether serving as a teacher, a group leader, a plain participant or observer. There is so much to learn in this church. I look forward to attending church meetings with my family every Sunday. Everyone has an opportunity to learn the gospel of Jesus Christ according to his or her age and capability. My children love attending their own classes.
