Hi I'm Karla

I grew up in Nevada, raised a family in Wyoming, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I always planned on college and that is where I met my husband. Our daughters and son have families of their own so we are busy empty nesters---keeping up with grandchildren. We love to travel abroad to places like Bali and Israel. I enjoy taking spontaneous family pictures, hiking, the outdoors, and scrapbooking.

Why I am a Mormon

Even as a young child I loved the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My LDS parents led good lives, always setting an example of service and love of others. I knew that pleased Jesus and I always had faith in a loving Heavenly Father. Through the years of trials and joys I've known that He is aware of me and that I am not insignificant in this universe. He listens and answers my fervent and often pleading prayers. I am most grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ which instills in me hope for today and in the future. I feel gladness for who I am and where I am at this point in my life.

How I live my faith

As a leader of 10 & 11-year old girls, I love to plan activities and teaching moments to reinforce that they are daughters of God and He loves them. We bike together, play games, talk about the scriptures, and share about our families. Mostly they giggle and laugh as we are engaged in our activities. Going to visit teach, or meeting with other adult sisters, is rewarding for me. I just love to be with friends as we confirm our testimonies with each other. Unique as each of us is we are knit together in harmony with the Savior and of His love for us. Over time my monthly visits have developed into some sweet, long lasting friendships.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is an organization of women throughout the world in which we meet regularly to uplift each other and to feel a sisterhood of love. Our motto is "Charity Never Faileth". This means we give unconditional service reaching out to those in need---like the Savior did. Show more Show less
