Hi I'm Angel

I live in Marietta GA, I own a small business and I love sports!! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my wife for 9 years now, and we have 3 awesome children ages 1 (girl), 4 (boy) and 6 (girl). I love sports!! I love watching baseball (Atlanta Braves) and football (Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs). I am trying to teach my children to love sports as well. I believe that playing sports kept me out of a lot of trouble as a teenager because I was always so scared to get kicked off the team that I tried a little harder to be good. I am a small business owner and I love it. I feel so very blessed, and I am convinced that above all else our families are our most special possessions on this earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We attended church fairly regularly, but if I am being honest, I had absolutely zero interest in the church growing up. I was not what you would call a faithful Mormon. When I was 18 I looked in the mirror and I did not like what I saw. I was so unhappy, I knew there had to be more to life than this. Even though I had no interest in the church I always liked our missionaries and they always seemed so happy. So I decided that if I wanted to be happy, that I, too should serve a mission. I went to my Bishop (pastor or reverend) and told him I had a desire to serve a mission. He asked me if I had read the Book Of Mormon yet. Up until that point I had never made an attempt to read any church books and I had little idea what the Book of Mormon even was. When I told him that I hadn't read it, he said that he would not send me on a mission until I had read the entire Book of Mormon. So I set out to read it and I immediately became fascinated with it! I read from it every day, and in about 2 or 3 months I had finished it. Towards the end of the book there is a promise to all those that read the Book of Mormon, if you want to know if it is true you just need to ask God, so I did. I cannot explain the feeling that came over me as I said that prayer, only that when I got off my knees my mind was enlightened and my heart was swelling within me and I KNEW without any doubt that the Book was true and God was the author of it. I had to tell the world what I knew! So I went on my 2 year Mormon mission and my life has been so blessed because of it. From the day God revealed to me that the Book of Mormon is true my life has changed for the better. I am so grateful to be a member of this church. Even though that experience happened so many years ago, it left such a lasting impression on my heart that I could never forget it. Since then I have had so many other awesome experiences, but nothing as powerful as that.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite assignments from the church has to be when I taught the youth. For about 7 years I had the privilege of serving them. I think I have a special place in my heart for them because I know how hard it is to live your faith every day, and I admire and look up to the ones who do. Also I can very much empathize for the ones who fall short, and I feel I can connect with them. Currently I am a church clerk, I was just asked to serve in this way a week ago, and I am so excited to learn my new responsibilities. I try so hard to be like Jesus, and though I fall short every day, I feel that in the process of trying that I am very blessed for my effort. I love the quote from Michelangelo that reads "The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." I am also the happiest when I am trying to be like Him. One day my son who is 4, was walking in a somewhat strange manner, when I asked him what he was doing he replied "that is how you walk, and I want to be just like you." At that moment I was so very grateful that I was taught through the scriptures to try my best to be like my Savior. I hope I can be a good example for my family so they can be proud of me. They are what brings me the most joy, and I love them so very much.
