Hi I'm Jeff

I was born in Southern California. I served a mission in Brazil. I enjoy sports. I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy various types of music, sports, the outdoors, and reading a good book. I also enjoy classic movies of good versus evil and adventure movies such as the Star Wars saga, Indiana Jones, and James Bond. I like to grill because it is relaxing and always leads to "good eats". Even though my siblings, parents, and in-laws live quite a distance away, I enjoy spending time with them when the opportunity arises. My favorite meal would have to be steak and baked potato with a salad, but I enjoy a slew of other foods. I love learning...to include other cultures, history, science, and religion. I love Brazil, and that is because I served my mission in Brazil. The people are fantastic there and the food is wonderful too. I grew more in my 2 years in Brazil than at any other time in my life. That experience was so rewarding for me, and I think often of the friendships forged and personal growth I made while living there. I am a husband and father. My wife and I met right after I returned from my mission. She is a wonderful person - my best friend and a great mother. Our kids our energetic and hilarious at times. Our daughter loves the artistic side of things and our son has followed in my footsteps in our shared interest in Star Wars. I enjoy spending time with my family and completing projects around the house. I am an insurance professional, and hold a Bachelors degree in Management. I am pursuing continuing education.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the Church, I knew growing up that I needed to find out for myself whether the things I was taught at church were true. I remember times when reading in the scriptures and pondering the things which I had read, I would feel a great sense of comfort knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me. On certain occasions, after reading my scriptures, I would find myself in humble prayer, wanting to know more and to understand the religion in which I was raised. When doing so, I would receive great impressions in my heart and mind of the truths that are taught in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have many great friendships in the Church. I have learned from great youth leaders, and have worked side-by-side with fantastic members. These people are not perfect, but they seek to improve themselves through service to others. Being Mormon means that you seek to serve others and grow yourself. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet, and that he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon and was an instrument in the Lord's hands to restore The Church of Jesus Christ again to the earth. I have a testimony of The Book of Mormon and of the Atonement of our Savior. I know the Priesthood, or power of God, is here on the earth and that our families can be together forever.

How I live my faith

We just moved into our ward, and so I do not have a calling yet, but I have served in various capacities in the past such as in Boy Scouts and teaching the young primary-age children. I try to be a good example of the Church in the way that I conduct myself. I also live my faith through scripture study, prayer, attending church and spending time with my family. These activities help me stay grounded.
