Hi I'm Jim

I'm a husband, I'm a father, I'm an ex basketball player, I'm an accountant and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California. I was a big awkward kid. When I went to high school, I was lucky to have a very good basketball coach who taught me a lot. I ended up getting a scholarship to play basketball in college. After college I went and played basketball in Europe for seven years. I am now an accountant working for a small CPA firm. As part of my job I have been an controler for an Indian Tribe. Which has been a lot of fun being a part of a different culture. I have been married for twenty-one years. We have 6 kids which keep us very busy with church, school and sports.

Why I am a Mormon

My Dad was a convert to the church before I was born so I grew up in the church. The church always made a lot of sense to me and always felt right. When I got older I needed to know if it was really true, so I desided to read the Book of Mormon on a regular basis. There were nights that I read the Book of Mormon that the spirit let me know that it was true. I also know that heavenly father answers my prays. There were many times that I needed help and comfort that he was there for me. I cannot explain how he does it but he does.

How I live my faith

I have had the oppertunity to work with young men in my area. There is a great feeling of satifaction seeing young men doing things that they never thought possible, like hiking 50 miles in 5 days in the wilderness. Or being so scared, like going over the edge of a hudred foot cliff with just a rope, but overcoming their fears and doing it.
