Hi I'm Abraham

I was born in Hawaii, I'm a fraternal twin, husband, father. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I married my wife in the Denver Temple. I have a son 6 and a daughter 4. I met my wife in a Singles ward, at a Family Home Evening activity. My wife is a cancer fighter, she's in remission, she had Hodgkins Lymphoma Classic Nodular Sclerosis, she got cancer when she was 28. I came back to church about 7 years ago it was the best decision I have made. I have been blessed to be in the church and all the best things in my life have come from being a Mormon. I quit drinking, smoking and drugs to come back to activity. I am clean and sober for 7 years! In that time I've gotten married to my eternal companion, welcomed two beautiful children into the world. I have faced many challenges, I have Bipolar Disorder. My wife and I agree that she would rather have cancer than Bipolar. I have a hope in the Savior that I will be resurrected and have a whole healthy body and mind. Until then I try to do my best each day and choose to be happy and work to have joy each day. It's not always easy and some days are just plain hard, but always I hold on to the Savior and his promises to me. He really does help me with my burdens and makes them lighter. I'm working on my degree to become a Social Worker and substitute teacher. I love to read and hang out with my wife and kids and watch movies together. I'm just a normal guy with a fantastic family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it saved my life. The church helped me to stop drinking and drugs. It helps me to stay sober each day. I can lean on the church and I always know its there for me and my family. I have experienced so much love and belonging through some of the most challenging and dark times in my life because of the church. The ward and its members are always there for you and will do anything to help you out when you're in challenging times. I could not have made it through my wife's battle with cancer and my daily battle with Bipolar Disorder without the church and its members. The Book of Mormon and the living prophets have helped me to have a better understanding of who Christ is and to have a personal relationship with Him. I have a testimony of the Church, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that through the power and gift from God that Joseph Smith translated that book. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that Heavenly Father knows who I am and loves me. The Holy Spirit helps me each day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day to day. I try to live the commandments each day with my wife and family. I use my Priesthood to bless my wife and family in times of their need. I have a strong testimony of Family History and temple work. The temple draws us closer to our family, to our Savior and to our Heavenly Father. I try to serve the best I can, I'm not perfect and have areas to improve on but each day I take a step forward and try to get better each day in serving others in my ward and my family. I strive each day to be the best man I can be for my family and for Heavenly Father.
