Hi I'm Sheri

I am a mom of five kids. I enjoy going to garage sales, finding deals on craigslist and scrapbooking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the church in Oklahoma when I was 11 along with my mom and sister. I am now a busy mom of five kids. I stay at home, but work part-time jobs from home as well. I enjoy scrapbooking and stamping, but rarely have time to get much done. I love being with my family as well as spending time with other moms and learning that my experiences are normal. I married a big city boy, but I am slowly molding him into a country boy. We recently moved to a small farm so we can teach our kids the value of hard work. We have experienced raising pigs, riding horses and learning to cut and bale hay. I now have a lot more admiration for the pioneers who had to live off the land without the benefit of tractors.

Why I am a Mormon

My family first learned about the Mormon church when we stopped by a friends house and found them meeting with sister missionaries. My mom knew it was an answer to her prayers and so we began attending. Three of us were baptized a few months later, but my dad held out for another 14 years. Although I didn't believe it all at first, I have come to realize that I love this church and am grateful that God sent those missionaries to us at that time. I know that some of our beliefs are a little quirky, but I also know that this church was organized by Jesus Christ and he knows what is best for us all.

How I live my faith

I attend church each Sunday and faithfully fullfill any church callings that I am asked to help with. In this church, you don't get paid for playing the piano or teaching a class. We are each asked to volunteer our time in different ways to help further the gospel of Jesus Christ. Currently I am a secretary for our children's church group called Primary. This requires a few hours of time on Sundays as well as a few more during the week. I do it because I have been called by God to help out in this way. I also volunteer to serve others who are in need such as taking a meal to a new mom, or visiting those who need a friend.
