Hi I'm Annette

I grew up in Nebraska, I am a retired nurse, Wife, Mom and Grandma. I have a joyful life. Yes, I am indeed a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. I am a retired nurse. Since I retired I became politically active and very proud to have been a part of the Incorporation of the second largest city in the nation. I worked very hard with all walks of life, we came together to insure representation, against all odds. I am so proud to show my grandsons, that everyone can have an impact, you just have to start. I am an adventurous cook much to my husband's dismay, however, I will tell you I am an excellent cook. I have had serious health challenges the whole of my life, but, am so grateful to have had the challenges to overcome, and grow in health, strength, wisdom and faith. I wouldn't be who I am without the challenges. I look forward to each and every challenge that comes to me, for I will rise to each one with all I have.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was a single mother, I searched so hard for a church to help me give my daughter the correct principles to help her guide her life. I believe what you learn early in life stays with you forever. I searched for years. One day, after work, it was stressful on so many levels, I stopped by a friends home before I went to get my daughter. It was Easter Sunday. My friend had a book open on her mantel, and I began to read it. I so appreciated the words. The meaning of the message touched my heart and eased my troubled spirit. I asked my friend about the book, and It was the Book of Mormon. She told me to contact the missionaries, in which I did. The more I learned the more I wanted to learn. My daughter and I were baptized together. I believe I was led to my friend at that time when I needed help. I know without a doubt that I am a child of God. I know that I am loved and have purpose to my life. I didn't know that before. I Love my Savior Jesus Christ and have all faith in him. I have had so many prayers answered, thanks to faith, and accepting and believing Jesus Christ and Our Heavenly Father. I trust them, and feel as if my life just began when I was baptized. I don't dismiss my previous life, as I can appreciate the difference of living a faithful life, and one that is scattered, wondering and muddling through everything seemingly alone. I joined the Church out of faith, love and committment to being with my family forever. I am so grateful I was not too afraid to ask for help, and follow through with my beliefs and was baptized despite the opposition I had. My daughter and I have grown so much and have been so blessed. I met my husband 2 years after I joined the Church, we have been married for all eternity in a Holy Temple of God. These blessings are so precious to me. I have a hard time thinking of something I could be given more. I have true joy in my life. I am grateful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a friend. I help those in need by volunteering, by being non-judgemental, accepting people for who they are, not for what I want them to be. I have held many positions in the Church and use what I learn in each one to help me help others in need. If it is just a smile, a hello, a meal, a ride somewhere, whatever the need is. I am someone who is willing to serve others, just as Our Savior Jesus Christ has shown us. I emulate the Savior as much as I possibly can. I am still learning, growing and developing my soul and intelligence as best as I can. There is so much to learn and I am working toward being as Christ is.
