Hi I'm Rachel

I am an Arizona-raised Californian, a full-time receptionist, part-time massage school student... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. I have 3 older sisters who are all married, and have had kids that I am proud to call my nieces and nephews! I love my family with all my heart. I am so lucky to have parents and siblings who are amazing examples for me. I recently moved to California because I needed a challenge in my life. I am currently a full-time receptionist at a sports medicine clinic, and a part-time student at a massage college. I also attend a local young single adult ward that I love. I have had some amazing experiences since I've moved, and could not be more happy with my decision to leave my family, whom I miss terribly, and come to California. I love the gospel and enjoy learning new things about it. I love sharing my beliefs and my testimony with others. I love my Heavenly Father and know that he loves me. I know that the Church was restored by Joseph Smith, who translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it was written specifically for this day and age. I know that we have true, living prophets on the earth today, who receive direct revelation from God in order to guide us in this modern world. I know that families can be sealed together in the temple for time and all eternity. I know that, through the Plan of Salvation, we can see our loved ones in the after life, and return to live with our Father in Heaven. I am so thankful for the gift of the Holy Ghost, and for the inspiration that I have received through it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God. I know that my Father in Heaven, the most important being in existence, knows who I am, loves me, and want's me to succeed in life so that I can return to him when my mortal life ends. I know that He sacrificed his son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins, so we may be forgiven of our transgressions and one day be resurrected. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Church and translated the Book of Mormon, which truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that the teachings within the Book of Mormon are true, and that they were written for those living in this time period. I know that the Plan of Happiness allows us to exercise our free agency, and to return to our Father in Heaven. I know that, through temple work, we can be sealed to our families for time and all eternity, and live together in the Celestial Kingdom.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to others. At work, especially, people notice that I'm different. I don't drink, smoke, gamble, or swear. I talk openly about the Church. I tell my coworkers and non-member friends about different church activities that I attend, and the things that we believe. I try my best to have a Christ-like attitude. I enjoy making people feel happy, welcome, and loved. I share my beliefs and feelings about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to others. I keep the Lord's commandments and strive to be the best person I can be. When I make a mistake, I utilize the power of the Atonement to repent of my sins. I read the scriptures and pray daily. I sustain my church leaders and follow their teachings with enthusiasm. I support the missionaries and do my best to share the gospel whenever I get the chance.
