Hi I'm Amber

I grew up in El Centro, CA. I am a mother and I wife. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young mother and a wife. I go to college full-time. I love my life and I love my family. In high school I was senior class president. I love to read and watch movies. I like to play computer games. I enjoy walking with my baby and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the true genuine happiness it has given me. I converted when I was 19. At first I had negative thoughts and feelings about the LDS church and it's members. But as I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true or not, I could feel the hardness of my heart begin to soften. I love my Heavenly Father. I feel his presence while I pray, read the scriptures, and most of all when I spend time with my husband and son. My life is not easy, and I get tired and stumble along the way. But with the support of my husband I press forward and do my best to live righteously. I am NOT perfect, sometimes I don't even feel "good", but I know that I have a purpose and a plan. I am not forgotten and my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ love me, and that gives me the strength to pick myself up and keep trying. I know that I made the right choice because I can feel it. I know it, and I love it, therefore I live it.

How I live my faith

I serve with the children in my area. I love it because I learn so much from them. They make me laugh as I serve my calling. I am also a visiting teacher. Each month with my partner, I visit four women in my ward to offer my services and support. I am a mother and try to raise my children to be loving, supportive, and educated adults one day. I work hard to be a good wife to my husband and pray constantly that I am succeeding in these two aspects. Before I was a Mormon I loved coffee. After I converted, I stopped drinking it. Sometimes it is hard. I know that I cannot be a perfect christian, but I can be perfect at two things: one, following the Word of Wisdom, and two, paying a full ten percent tithing. Since it is impossible for me to be a perfect person, I work hard to be perfect at these two things.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Mormons believe that death is a necessary part of life. When we die, our bodies and our spirit will be separated. Our spirit will go to the spirit world where we will continue to "learn and progress." When Jesus Christ returns to earth during the second coming, we will all be judged. Our bodies and our spirits will be reunited and we will live in peace and happiness for eternity in the presence of God. Show more Show less
