Hi I'm Thomas W. Settle III

I am a junior in high school. I like to draw, and write. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in high school. I have 5 sisters, no brothers, and two cats, Fitz and Lizzy, and two dogs, Jersey and Jelly Bean. I have many hobbies, including drawing, novel and poem writing, reading, knitting, needle-pointing, and singing. I am in all honors ana AP classes, and I enjoy being challenged. I play the guitar. I speak spanish. I am currently writing a book.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and was baptized at age 8. However, my testimony really came at age 11, when my family took an R-V trip to Kirtland, Palmyra, Nauvoo, and Carthage. When we visited the Sacred Grove, I truthfully gained a testimony of Joseph Smith, and with that came a testimony of everything else.

How I live my faith

I do hold the priesthood, and I have served as deacons quorum president, before I turned 14 in August. I've served in all callings in the decon's quorum presidency. i am now a teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood, and have had to stand up for my faith many times. In high school, I've heard people speak strongly against the church, and have had to ask them to stop.

Thomas W. Settle III
It bagan in the Sacred Grove, when Joseph Smith, at 14 years of age, prayed an asked a simple question: "What church should I join?" Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Thomas W. Settle III
No, however, it is stongly advised for all worthy male members, and as many female members that can to serve a full-time mission. All that I know who have served missions are better of than those I know who chose not to. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Thomas W. Settle III
The twelve apostles were not meant to just be in Jesus' time. Jesus had them for the organization of the church, and meant for them to be a continuing part of the church. even after his ressurection, he established 12 apostes in the Americas among the Nephites (see 3 Nephi, chapter 12).
