Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a gym rat and music lover. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play. Games, sports--you name it! Laughing is one of my absolute favorite pastimes. I play the guitar the the ukulele and I love to sing. I've written several of my own songs and consider it my one "real" hobby.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, when I was a teenager, I remember having a few struggles and a lot of doubts as to whether God was even there. My thoughts were "If religion is true, then the Mormon church is probably the right one." I wanted the Church to be true. I didn't want the teachings of my childhood to have been for nothing. It's hard to explain, but when I read the Book of Mormon for myself, I realized that I actually DID know it was true. From somewhere inside of me, I felt right about the teachings of the Church. From there, I've only continued to learn and understand more and to overcome my personal weaknesses. I served God and the people of New Zealand as a missionary--an experience that I will forever treasure. I still have a lot of weaknesses, but I'm improving. I know that Jesus Christ was resurrected and that He can and will change us from bad to good and from good to better. I see it in my life every day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to do what's right. Improvement and progression towards being more like Jesus Christ is what my faith is all about. He is my ultimate role model. And though I always fall short, I believe that Christ is there to empower me and give me what's needed to overcome my weaknesses. For me, living my faith is all about believing in, befriending, and following Jesus Christ.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

God chooses who the prophet will be. Pretty cool, huh? :) Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Tithing is awesome. When I pay my tithing, all of the financial needs of my life get taken care of. When I don't pay or I procrastinate paying, things don't add up and my financial world is a whole lot more stressful. Tithing can act as "insurance" for anyone who has the faith to try it. What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is AWESOME! As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, when we are doing our best to live the teachings of Jesus Christ, we can truly have peace in life and can take great comfort in the promise of eternal happiness with our families after this life is over. I can't even count the number of times that I've been feeling depressed, angry, or frustrated and, after prayer, scripture study, going to church, or doing something good for someone else, the negative feelings I was having have been "swallowed up in the joy of Christ" (Alma 31:18, in the Book of Mormon). If you're on the fence about joining the Church and getting baptized, I would say to go for it! It's amazing how much joy is available for you here. Who cares what you've done? We've ALL made bad decisions. Jesus Christ gives us the promise of forgiveness for our bad choices if we will follow Him. You can do it! Come and join with us! :) Show more Show less
