Hi I'm Russell

I grew up in Southern California. I am a special education teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being active. I enjoy playing many sports such as basketball, softball, volleyball, football, and rugby. Recently I moved to Colorado to go to school. I have been in college for many years and will be receiving my master's in special education. Since moving to Colorado, I have been able to satisfy more my interests of the outdoors by going hiking, biking, and camping.I have gone on many trips around the United States and a couple over seas and will continue to travel to as many places as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Mormon Church and when I was little my mother past away. The only way that I could endure the grief was the knowledge that I will be able to see her again. This realization helped to grow my testimony of the church. When I became a teenager there came a time in my life that I needed to know if what the church was teaching me was true. Around this time I went with a missionary to help him teach someone the gospel. As he was recounting the story of Joseph Smith's vision of God and Jesus Christ I felt the spirit so strongly that I knew that what the missionary was sharing is true. I continued my journey of strengthening my testimony through prayer and reading the Book of Mormon. When I read the book Book of Mormon I feel the comforting feeling of the spirit telling me that what I am reading is true. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Jospeh Smith was a prophet and restored the church of Christ. I have felt the spirit testify to me the truthfulness of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I work with the youth in helping them become better Chrisians. We look for opportunities to serve in the community by organizing service projects like administering to the elderly, assisting people in the community with yard work, and city clean up.

Are Mormons Christians?

Russell
A Christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ and that he is the Savior of the world. They believe in the Bible and the teachings that Jesus Christ taught. Christians worship Christ and believe that through his sacrifice that we will be saved in God's kingdom. Mormons believe in the same Biblical Jesus Christ that the rest of Chritianity believes in. The same Jesus Christ that was born in a manger, lived and taught all around Jerusalem, was crucified on Golgotha, and was resurrected three days later. We believe that he suffered for the sins of all mankind. We believe that if we accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior and follow his example the best we can we will live in God's kingdom.
