Hi I'm Adam Reitz

I grew up in New Mexico, I'm in law school, I love basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am the youngest of four and one of three boys in my family. I have lived in every state on the west coast and a majority of the south west. I started college at the University of New Mexico and completed 2 years there. I then served a full time mission to Anaheim, California and upon returning to New Mexico I decided to transfer to Utah Valley University. I completed my undergrad at UVU in 2010. Through out this time I supported myself by fighting forest fires for five seasons: two seasons on a hotshot crew, 1 season on a helitack crew, 1 season on an engine crew, and 1 season as a helicopter rappeller. In 2010 I met my beautiful wife Kayla and after dating a while we were married in November of that same year. Thats my life in a nutshell.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man I grew up in an environment where I was given a lot of freedoms and an ability to experience life. I jumped right in, enjoying things that I had a feeling and maybe even a knowledge that I shouldn't try. I however went to church every sunday with my family and had an amazing support group. At church I would learn about the great love of God for his children. I listened and although I made mistakes, I began to read the scriptures and experience a growth in my knowledge. It came to a point that I knew that prophets existed on the earth and that the Book of Mormon combined with the Bible made such a compelling argument together that God lives and that he has given us the path in which we should walk. When my parents moved away as a young man I made the decision to stay behind in New Mexico. I would go to church every Sunday by myself and I would sit in the back. I would listen and throughout the church session I made some really great friends. I had a desire to serve a mission and so I did. I knew that marrying my wife was a rich blessing so I married her. I have never been one who questions so much they question themselves out of an answer. I'm Mormon because I know God lives and that his Son was born in a most miraculous way to a virgin mother. I know that he walked the earth and that the words which are written of him are true. He did raise Lazarus from the dead, he walked on the Sea of Galilee and calmed the tempest on these very waters. Christ bore the sins of the world in the Garden of Gethsemenae and bleed from every pore. He was then taken and beaten and placed upon a cross. However, he did forgive them with his final words. But he lives he rose from the tomb of Joseph and he returned to a prophet in our day, Joseph Smith. He restored his power and ability to men in the form of the priesthood. And that is why I'm Mormon cause I know that is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to read my scriptures everyday. I also take time to pray and ask and thank God for blessings in my life. I do all that I can to resist the temptations of the devil. I attend church on Sundays and give service when I can. I ask for forgiveness from those I have felt I could have offended, and I do my best to consider everyones point of you. I live my faith by following what Christ and his prophets have commanded me to do.
