Hi I'm Dave

I’m a husband, a father, an engineer, a gear head, and I’m a Mormon

About Me

I am the middle child of three children. I was born on Long Island, New York and I spent my youth there. My favorite thing about living on Long Island was going to the beach. My family moved to Phoenix, Arizona when I was 13 years old. We came to Arizona looking for a new adventure and an opportunity to do things that we could not do when we lived in New York, such as owning horses and riding dirt bikes. I attended high school in Arizona and went to college at Arizona State University where I graduated with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical engineering. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 23 years old. I like spending time with my family and working on 1960-70’s era muscle cars.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church not long after I met my wife who was a member of the church. Right before I met my wife I felt that I needed to change the direction of where my life was going. I felt that I wanted to meet someone and settle down but I also was searching for something in my life that could provide stability and good values. I was looking for something that would help me to be a better person and that could help me raise my future children with good values. At the time, I did not realize that I was searching for the gospel of Jesus Christ. After I met my wife (who was a member) and started taking the missionary discussions, I realized that I had found what I had been searching for. I knew the things that I was being taught were true and confirmed many feelings that I had always believed in my heart. It was not long after that I was baptized and became a member of the Church. I was drawn to the church because of its teachings and the fellowship of the members who showed genuine love and concern for me.

How I live my faith

I have been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ever since the day I was baptized. I strive to live the commandments and try to be a better person each day. My wife and I are raising our children in the gospel and try to have a Christ centered home. I am actively involved in my faith and I have served diligently in my Church callings and will continue to do so until the Lord calls me home. As a family we strive to read from the scriptures and pray every day. We have found when we do these things life seems to just go a little smoother then on the days that we get too busy and do not do it. My wife and I try to teach our children the gospel and how to be kind to those around us. We are trying to teach our children about service and do so by example. When appropriate I look for ways to share the gospel with others so that they too can share in the happiness that I have found in my life by joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
