Hi I'm Michelle

I’m a college graduate. I’m a designer. I’m a wife. I’m a mother. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up, education was always a priority in my family. I graduated from college with a degree in design. I love doing graphic and interior work. I enjoy learning new skills to apply my design strengths. I decorate cakes, cook gluten-free, enjoy photography, reading & organizing. I like to play tennis, swim, run and going on walks. I love being with my friends & family. I am a wife & mother of six, including multiples – a surprise package from the Lord. Doubling our family has brought joy and demands we never imagined. Motherhood is more than a full-time job now and I'm so thankful I get to raise my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am the daughter of many ancestors who joined the Mormon religion over a century ago. For example, in the late 1800s, my great grandparents heard about 'the Mormons' in their little town in Europe. They were told the 'Mormons had horns'. Out of curiosity, they went to a meeting to listen to the missionaries. They were interested in their message and eventually converted. Their desire was so strong to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they left family and everything they knew. They fled to America in pursuit of worshiping as they pleased. I have often thought about my ancestor's sacrifices to belong to this Mormon religion and it has given me a desire to understand why they left their 'home' to seek out this faith. I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but like all participants, I had to gain my own testimony. It was through attending church meetings, personal study of the scriptures and prayer that I found out for myself that this church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know the words and records found there can comfort, direct and teach all people. I am thankful for The Bible and the prophets who took the time to record their testimonies and the history of their time. I am thankful for modern prophets & look forward to general conference. I find happiness and peace as a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. Through the visiting teaching program, women are able to teach, strengthen and serve one another. I love this program! We see in the scriptures the Savior repeatedly taking time with individual. Just as he did then, he is interested in the individuals in our day. His love and sacrifice was for each of us. I believe if he were able he would visit each of us and in order to carry through this love of the individual we are asked to visit teach others. I have found joy, friendship and my testimony strengthened by visiting teaching. I have worked with the small children in the Primary, youth and women of the church. I find great joy in serving others. I enjoy teaching lessons as I find through study, I am the one who learns the most. My testimony is strengthened as I participate and learn from those around me. At home, I live my faith by teaching my children The Bible and Book of Mormon stories. We pray as a family and we teach our children right from wrong. We have family night and learn from each other by taking turns teaching about the gospel. I try to do the things I teach my children so as to teach by example. One scripture that gives me strength is found in James 1:22 "be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only". I find happiness in going to church, serving others, reading the scriptures, praying, attending the temple and following the words of a modern-day prophet.
