Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a college student getting ready to serve a mission! I love to read books, watch movies, swim, and eat donuts. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Here in Arizona, summer days are pretty warm. Over 100 degrees Fahrenheit-warm, to be exact. For many people, that type of heat is unbearable. But I've learned to combat it with one of my favorite activities: swimming! There is NO way that I'm a pro swimmer...I can't even dive off the diving board. Which is pretty embarrassing. But I've learned to enjoy spending time in the pool. I'm a college student! I live at home with my parents to save money once I transfer up to a university. I love learning and can't wait to figure out what I want to major in. Perhaps one of my most distinguishing factors: I LOVE donuts! They are my passion. If I could eat donuts all day every day (and not get sick), I would totally do it. No joke. I'm also an avid book reader and movie buff. There are so many fun and enjoyable books and movies out there! I am leaving soon on an LDS mission. I'm very excited to go out and serve others and bring them closer to Christ. This is a happy time!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church, as my family are all members. I'm so grateful for this gospel because it adds so much to my life! Many people don't realize the big impact the church has on them, but I see it every day. It helps me to keep my standards high and be kind to those around me. With the knowledge I have, I'm able to have confidence in myself; I know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me!

How I live my faith

In our church, a group of members living in an area are considered a "ward", and we attend the same church building. Well in my ward, I'm the librarian! It sounds like a stuffy job, but really it's not. I'm able to help people obtain necessary materials to enjoy their Sunday meetings or to teach a lesson! From magnets to pictures to yarn, our library is stocked full of useful things. I love helping people! In a short amount of time, I will be heading out on a mission to bring others closer to Jesus Christ. This is probably the biggest way I live my faith. It's going to be difficult to leave the comforts of home and travel to an unfamiliar place. But through my faith and belief in Christ and His gospel, I know that I can make it through hard times.
