Hi I'm April

I am a wife and mother of seven children. I am a teacher. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been greatly blessed! I have a loving husband who works hard to take care of our large family. I have seven children, six girls and one boy I love them all dearly! I have spent many years studying education, having received my bachelors, masters, and completed some doctoral level work. I love to learn and am passionate about teaching! Several years ago, we sold our home in the city and moved to the country where the beauties of nature surround us. We love to start the day and see what gifts the Lord has in store for us! We spend our days learning, serving and creating memories together. Whether we are horseback riding, skiing, swimming, hiking, playing football, on field trips, baking bread, reading, or studying, we are committed to following the Lord, becoming an eternal family, and serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my entire life, and have always been grateful for the teachings of the Church. It has brought me so much happiness! I have been spared so many trials that come through sin and addictions. In my study of the scriptures and through attending church, I have come to know the Lord better. I know that He lives and that He is the Redeemer of the world. It is my sincere desire to follow Him, and to teach others the joyful message of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I have learned that joy comes through service. I try to start each day with a prayer that I will be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I watch for the needs of others, whether it be my husband, my children, a friend or a stranger, I try to listen to the promptings of the Spirit. I have come to better understand the noble calling of motherhood. I spend my days teaching gospel principles to my children. We learn the joyful and hard lessons of Christ-like love, forgiveness, perseverence, service, gaining knowledge, listening to the Spirit, and enduring to the end. I firmly believe that the most critical part of anyone's education is developing a Christ-like character. Putting the Lord first means that everything else will fall into place. I have also taught the youth of the church for many years. I have loved this experience! I have often wondered who the student and teacher were, for I being the "teacher" learn so very much! Simply put, I live my faith by allowing the grace of the Lord to change my heart. He truly is the author and finisher of my faith.
