Hi I'm Dave

I'm a music major at BYU getting ready for law school. I grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. All kinds are great, but I especially love classical music. Growing up I played all types of sports with all of the neighborhood kids. I also played piano. Soon however, piano became my true love-- even more so than sports. Eventually I ended up at BYU as a piano major. I will soon graduate with my undergrad and am now prepping to go to law school. My family was a tight nit one. Both of my parents were converted to the gospel shortly before their marriage. However, they committed heavily to it and helped raise us all to be spiritually focused, while also understanding the importance off an education and of work. They were and continue to be great influences who I love. I'm dating a great girl and we're coming up on 16 months. I met her playing piano for her ballet class and we just fell for each other-- her for my piano playing and myself for her dancing. She's a big part of my life. That's basically all about me. I hope to have a family of my own someday and hope to be a parent that is half as good as mine were to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. As I strive harder to keep the commandments, I feel true joy which no other thing has been able to provide me. I'm a Mormon because it makes me feel secure. It's such a blessing to have a living prophet to lead and guide us. A modern day Abraham, Isaac, and Moses is just what our world needs today. As in times of old, he acts as the Lord's mouthpiece for us here on earth. I'm a Mormon because I know through living righteously that my family can be together forever-- death loses its sting. I'm a Mormon because I've received my own witness, by praying and asking God, that it is Christ's church here on Earth and provides the way to return back to Him.

How I live my faith

I try hard to implement my faith in all realms of my life. It is a way of life. As I study the scriptures, pray frequently and attend church, I learn how to be a better person and how to help others. I've learned that Heavenly Father gives us commandments to bless us. When we keep them, we are at peace and we are free from the bondage of guilt and sin. I love how the gospel provides answers to our innermost questions and how it can, with time, help us become better people. I know I would feel lost without it.
