Hi I'm christine

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married mother of 6 boys and one little girl. Being a mother has been the greatest and most challenging thing I have ever done. It refines me. Motherhood has made me less selfish and taught me many great lessons. Between dance, piano, scouts, gymnastics, soccer, football, wrestling and tennis practices I feel I have earned the title "taxi driver"! Its exhausting! Having a faithful, hardworking, loving husband has made all the difference in my life. I love being married to my best friend. I enjoy playing tennis, eating chocolate, traveling and reading (in my spare time).

Why I am a Mormon

I feel fortunate to have been raised in an LDS home. I am a member of a large family and continue to enjoy the association with my parents and siblings. I was taught many important things in my home including how to cook, budget and raise children. I was also taught the teachings of Jesus Christ through daily family scripture study. This practice has blessed my life and I know that there is a power in the Book of Mormon. During my life I have had many experiences with the Holy Ghost testifying to me the truthfulness of specific principles, like honesty, tithing, revelation, priesthood power, integrity, faith and the worth of every soul. Through these experiences and heartfelt prayer I have come to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ is the only true church on this earth. Just as in ancient times we have a prophet on the earth today! I believe that he speaks with God and relays His will to us, His people. I know that I lived before I came to earth and that I will live again because of Jesus Christs sacrifice for us. He died that we might live forever with Him and our families. I believe that my father in Heaven knows me by name. He hears my prayers and answers them. This knowledge has brought me so much peace in this confusing world. Everyone has struggles and I am no exception. The gospel of Jesus Christ has given me the pathway to happiness. Heavenly Father has a plan for us and we are so lucky!

How I live my faith

I have the great opportunity to teach the 8 and 9 year old children in my local area. This year we have studied out of the New Testament. I have loved reading the stories of how Jesus Christ lived his life. The love and compassion he showed to all people has really touched my heart and has made me want to be more like him. Teaching young children is exciting because they are so anxious to learn. To see the light in their faces as they come to understand who Jesus Christ is and what He has done for us is so rewarding. This year we have also felt the Holy Ghost testify of Christ as we have sang songs teaching us how to recognize and hear our Saviors voice. He lives! I pray daily with my children and husband. This practice binds us together and brings us closer to our Savior. I feel that prayer helps us in our everyday activities and shows our gratitude for all that we have been given. We have so many things to still learn and perfect as a family. I "referee" a lot of "lively" discussions between my boys- especially during friendly indoor football games. I am grateful as we grow and learn that we can repent and change. I have felt immense peace and closeness to my Father in Heaven as I have attended the House of the Lord. In the temple I feel removed from the world and enjoy the quiet but brief break from the fast pace schedule of raising a large family. I am grateful for such a place to worship, meditate and pray. I hope that I am instilling in my children and those whom I teach, how important the gospel of Jesus Christ is and how it can truly bless our lives.
