Hi I'm Erin

I grew up and now live in Georgia. I am a high school math teacher and volleyball coach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Bible Belt with lots of friends who were members of other faiths. In high school I decided I wanted to be a math teacher and pursued my bachelors and then my masters in Math Education. When I was doing my student teaching there was a young man who had me for math and another student teacher for bible study. He introduced us and two years later we were married! Now we live in the South where I am a high school math teacher and volleyball coach and my husband works in the city. On the side my husband and I do highlight films for local high school football teams - I love the sense of community and pride that comes from interacting with such respected men (coaches) and the promise and hope of tomorrow that exudes from the players. We also film weddings, graduations, ballets, etc. I love interacting with people and being part of such a great community. In my personal time, I love to read and play games with family or friends. My husband and I both enjoy cooking, traveling, musicals, plays and old movies. My husband loves to garden and we enjoy the fruits of that labor!

Why I am a Mormon

I know my Savior loves me - I see that in the beauty of the world around us, in the kindness of strangers, in the service we give to others, as I read and contemplate the scriptures. The gospel brings peace and joy to my life as well as direction for future happiness. I love knowing that families can be together forever and that the Savior's Atonement provides release from our sins, hurts, and even sicknesses.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do good around me. Whether as a teacher, a coach, a youth leader a church, a spouse, or friend, I want to leave others better than I found them and help them come closer to Christ. Most recently I've been a youth leader at church - organizing activities to help the youth come closer to Christ and realize that the gospel does apply to us at every stage in our life has been a fun challenge. It's been such a blessing to work with these talented and enthusiastic young women and they've taught me much about patience and kindness. I believe we live our faith when we reach out to those around us in need of help or love. We strive to follow the Savior's example and demonstrate His love for all of us.
