Hi I'm Chris

I'm a convert. I'm a life long resident of Colorado. I'm a husband and father of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband to a wonderful wife and father to four great kids. I love watching college football and basketball and try to hit the slopes whenever I get a chance. I also have a passion for coaching youth sports, especially basketball, and have coached many of the teams my two oldest boys have participated on. It gives me great joy to see kids practice, work hard, and see thier efforts pay off on game day.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church right after I graduated from high school (like the next day). I was led to the church because the example of great friends from my high school class. I always knew there was something different about them, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. The more I hung around them, the more I found myself interested in finding out more about their beliefs. Why didn't they play basketball on Sundays, why didn't they go to the parties that me and all my other friends went too, and why were they so happy? Soon they started inviting my to come to church with them and I couldn't think of a reason not to (especially because football and basketball season were over and I didn't have much to do on Sundays). What I experienced was like nothing I had ever experienced before. Complete strangers welcomed me in and were interested in me. The things they talked about were foreign yet felt right in some way. We have a loving Heavenly Father who restored His church in these the latter days. There is a prophet on the earth like there was in Old and New Testament times. And most of all, that families can live together forever with our Heavenly Father after this life. I took the invitation to talk to the missionaries and they helped me gain a greater understanding of who I was, where I came from, and what opportunities I had because the true chuch of Jesus Christ had been restored on earth. They challenged me to read the Book of Mormon and ask if was true, because if it is, then this chuch was truly God's church restored on earth. After much study and prayer, I gained this confirmation that the Book of Mormon was indeed true and I knew that I had found truth and I must never let it go.

How I live my faith

I have the great opportunity to teach an early morning class to a group of high school freshman each day before they go to school. We talk about the scriptures and how the teachings that are found in them can be applied in their lives. These youth have so much going on in their lives, but they know they can find peace by learning more about our Heavenly Father and His plan for them.
