Hi I'm Zach

I'm a college student. I'm a returned missionary. I'm an Army brat. I'm a Bama fan. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a freshman at Utah State University pursuing a degree in Human Movement Science. I recently returned from a 2-year, full-time mission in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission, and I loved serving God and His children there. I am the oldest of 5 kids and am the only boy. Because of that, I'm very close to my father and I love and respect each of my amazing sisters and my angel mother. I love being outside, there's nothing better than being with people I care about and doing sometihng that I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a Mormon, because I believe in and love my Savior Jesus Christ and I want to do everything I can to be as close to Him as possible. I'm always my happiest self when I'm trying to be like Jesus and thinking about others, and I find myself doing that when I live what is taught in this church.

How I live my faith

I want to be as close to God as possible so I try my best not to do anything that would push me farther away from Him. I live my faith every moment of every day to the best of my ability. What I do is simple and may seem pointless - reading my scriptures every day, saying my prayers, etc. - but they make the biggest difference. I don't force my faith upon anyone, but I try to live it in a way that people can feel the light and Spirit God has given me without even having to open my mouth.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormonism isn't much different from the gospel that Jesus taught while He was on the earth; in fact, it is the exact same gospel and church established by Christ while He lived and preached on the earth. That church was lost after the death of Christ and His disciples, but was personally restored in 1820 by Christ and Heavenly Father to the prophet Joseph Smith. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints do their very best every day to live the teachings of the prophets and the Savior in The Holy Bible as well as the teachings of the prophets and Christ in The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Gift of the Holy Ghost as given by the restored priesthood of God, brings countless blessings into the life of any man or woman who will listen to the counsel and guidance He brings from the Father. There is not a thing on this earth he can't help you get through, but the Spirit can only guide when you are worthy and when you listen for His words. Through this gift, the fruits of the Spirit can be felt and experienced endlessly; namely: "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith...Meekness, [and] temperance...".
