Hi I'm Deedra

I am a mother of five. I grew up and live in northern Idaho. I am a Title One teacher assistant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of five daughters, ranging from sixteen to six. Needless to say, my husband is a saint for putting up with all the estrogen! I have been a stay at home mom until a year ago went I went to work for our school district as a Title One teacher's assistant. I help grade school kids who need a little extra help with their reading. It can be very challenging but rewarding at the same time. My husband of nineteen years is a funeral director and my best friend. Life is definitely never dull. We enjoy being together as a family which is getting harder to do because of all our different schedules and activities. Our girls are involved in sports and music and 4H and church responsibilities so that means my husband and I are involved in these as well. We love supporting our kids in all their endeavors and goals. I have enjoyed coaching volleyball and other sports teams that my kids have been on. I help out on the board of our town's club volleyball program and help in the schools whenever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this religion and am so lucky to have come from such a strong family. I watched my parents example growing up and watched how the gospel helped them through trials and how they were of service to others. I wanted to find out for myself if there really was a god, if I really had a Savior that knew me and my struggles and if His gospel was the right and true way to live. Throughout my life I followed what my parents and teachers taught me, read the Book of Mormon and prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if it was true. I have experienced the peace that only my Father in Heaven can give, realized He was real and only wanted to please and serve Him. I am a Mormon because I want to follow Christ's teachings so I can have peace in my life.

How I live my faith

I get the privilege of being involved with the youth of our church. I love their energy, their strength and their commitment to doing what is right and being a light for others to follow. I also get the privilege of leading our choir at church. Music is a powerful tool in feeling the spirit. I hope I live my faith in how I treat others at work and at home. I try to be a peacemaker and to be a solution to problems, not a cause of problems. I try to be a good example to my kids. I Try to be a good example to my friends. I live my faith by praying for guidance each day in all the responsibilities I face.
