Hi I'm Emily

I'm a happy twenty year old and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an ordinary girl living an ordinary life. I work 40+ plus hours a week for a large healthcare provider; my position is in the cash department and it is a job that I have truly learned to love. Striving for independence while working my hardest has always been important to me. After graduating from high school, I then went on to take some courses at a community college. School gave me the opportunity to meet all sorts of interesting people from diverse backgrounds. Through time, I have realized that my primary interests in life are reading, baking and cooking, and spending time with the people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into this wonderful church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As I grew up, I attended church regularly.. although I must admit that I threw fits here and there when I wanted to sleep in. I was baptized and given the constant gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of eight. Once I entered my teenage years, I realized that my life was not all sunshine and daisies. These years were marked by my struggle with health issues. Although this trial was daunting and painful, I look at it with a smile. The Lord blessed me with infinite love and comfort, and He ultimately blessed me with good health. But as always, one trial follows another. I soon came to the point in my life where I wanted to find out, for myself, whether or not the Gospel was true. I wished so badly that the Lord would grant me with a bold answer to my simple question. He did not. Months and months of study, prayer, service, and temple attendance still did not grant me with the direct answer that I worked so diligently for. Hoping for guidance, I went for a walk with my mother and confided to her the efforts I had put forth to receive a spiritual confirmation and stronger testimony of the Gospel. I expressed my despair that I had not yet received this righteous desire of mine. My mother soon taught me something that I will always remember. Everything in the world around us testifies that Jesus is the Christ. From the endless sky, to the fresh green grass, to the animals that roam the earth - all things witness of the Gospel's truthfulness. My mother was an instrument in the Lord's hands that night. She reminded me of something that I had always known, but Satan made me temporarily forget it. Heavenly Father is as real as anyone of us, and His Gospel is on this earth in these latter days. The Lord blesses us with spiritual assurances, comfort, and peace, but it is often after the trials of our faith that we are blessed to know that the Gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I contribute to society by befriending people. I believe that every person is in need of a kind smile. I try my best to be a person who makes all people feel comfortable and loved. Participating in church and service activities fills my heart with joy.
