Hi I'm Jenny

I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I like to ride my bike. I love being a mom and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a Mom. I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. When I was young I dreamed of being a "Kool-Aid" Mom. The kind who played with the kids and baked cookies and, of course, made Kool-Aid. Now, with a house full of teenagers, life is still super fun. My husband and I like to ride our bikes together. We find new routes to familiar places near home and discover the adventure of the slower pace a bicycle allows. The best part about this is meeting people along the way. We have begun planning bicycling tours that will take us even farther from home and recently adventured through Yellowstone on our bikes.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a large family. My family has been part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for many generations. I wondered at times if my testimony was my own or something I did because it is what I was taught as a child. One day as a young mother I had a deep conversation with a friend. She was a member of another religion and she could really quote scripture. I was faithful and active in this church but I wasn't able to quote scripture and cite references like she did. That bothered me and I thought about it for days. Then one day I felt a wonderful comfort and I knew that even though I didn't have all the knowledge I wanted yet, I had felt the promptings of the Holy Ghost and that confirmation was what really mattered. I still can't quote as many scriptures as I would like, but I trust those feelings of faith and direction that I receive. I know God is there and even in His great divinity, He knows and loves me as His daughter.

How I live my faith

I attend church services every Sunday. I spend time with the women of our congregation and have also been a teacher for the youth and children. I believe that God has a plan for each of his children and part of that plan is for us to be there for each other. I am grateful for people who look out for me and for my children, but I am also thankful for the opportunities I have had to serve others. Christ lived His life in service to others and we are taught that the best thing we can do is try to be like Him.
