Hi I'm Maria

l am a mother, school teacher, glass artist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large family of 7 children. I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I speak Spanish and English. I was an exchange student in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico my junior year of high school. I went to ASU and became a teacher. I was married then divorced. I am married again and now we have 5 children together. Thank heaven for second chances! Teaching off and on between raising my young family I've also discoverd my favorite art medium. Glass Lampwork! When I'm not busy with kids, home-life, or art I can be found outside in my garden, with my chickens, our cockatiel, or cat.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church, I was baptized at age 8. I put this church to the test at each turn in my youth, that is to say I took every opportunity to find out for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. I read and prayed then waited for a glow to fill my soul often. Each time I attend church and hear truth I feel and know in my heart it is right. I want to follow Jesus and live worthy of all the blessings he promises.

How I live my faith

I live my faith most of each day. As a youth I always took care of my younger brother who has Downs Syndrome. I volunteered with Special Olympics as a result. I served my community as a public school teacher. I now spend my days babysitting for other teachers while I raise my youngest children. I work with the young children at church as well as the Boy Scouts of America. I pull neighbors weeds, return things I borrow, and volunteer at my children's school. But the biggest thing I do daily to share the Lords faith is smile.
