Hi I'm Kent

I love technology. I love learning. I love to solve problems and to fix things. I have 8 kids, 4 grandkids. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I got a BA degree in Business Communications and have ended up working in the computer industry my entire adult life. I gravitated toward the technical end of the spectrum and currently I work for IBM as a System Engineer. I love finding a solution to a problem for my customers. I am a geek, and I love technology. I love using technology to help people solve problems in their businesses. Spending my entire adult life working in the computer industry and seeing the changes and advances that have occurred in the last 30 years, excites me about what the future has in store for us and what amazing things we will see in the next 30 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon family. My parents were converts to the Mormon church a few years before I was born. Even though I was raised in a Mormon family I was encouraged by my parents to gain a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ on my own. I didn't experience a singular event that I can point to as the event that caused me to know that I had a testimony that Jesus Christ was my Savior, but I can identify hundreds of little events that the Holy Ghost has helped me identify as testimony builders of a loving Heavenly Father and a Savior that suffered and died for me so that I may one day return to them.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by looking at the big picture and in so doing looking for opportunities to help others and be the hands that do the actual work of a loving Father in Heaven. It isn't always easy to keep the big picture perspective, but I try. I have served my entire adult life in different capacities in our congregation. Sunday school teacher, youth leader, Scout Master, nursery leader, priesthood teacher, priesthood quorum leader. missionary. I actually think I have served in almost every capacity in my local congregation. One of my favorite things to do to live my faith, is to help people who are broken down on the side of the road with car trouble. My wife worries about me stopping and helping people, that I might get hurt, but it is one of the ways that I show my Heavenly Father that I am trying to be like my elder brother Jesus Christ.
