Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a wife, a mother of three, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy teaching, gardening, singing, learning languages, and playing with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I first learned the Book of Mormon was true while I was a full-time missionary studying at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. I was raised in the church by faithful parents and until that point, had not yet prayed about Joseph Smith or the Book of Mormon. I remember I prayed to know for myself that the Book of Mormon was true. About a week later, we were practicing teaching each other the lessons in class when I received my answer. I felt an overpowering surge of love and peace as the Spirit whispered to me that the book was true. I felt so happy that the Lord answered my prayer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the best I can; I'm not perfect but I've learned that the Atonement is real and Christ paid the price for me. I try to remember that each person I meet, whether online or in person, is a child of God and they are my brother or sister. Each human being has potential to become like our heavenly parents. There is good in every person and it takes patience to find the good in everything. Gratitude in all things is something I am working on developing. I feel overwhelmed with the many "tender mercies" the Lord has shown me and am constantly reminded that I need to remember him in ALL things. My current calling is teaching in the nursery (ages 18 months to three years). We have playtime, lesson time and let's not forget - snack time! It is a wonderful time to relax and play with the children in our congregation. They are so eager to learn about God and Jesus Christ at a young age.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Rachel
Absolutely! Our current prophet is Thomas Monson and when he speaks, I feel of his love for me and all people in the world. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Rachel
For me personally, faith has increased when prayer is an important part of my day. Praying several times a day through my thoughts and thinking before I speak has helped me increase faith in Jesus Christ. It's not just enough with our actions and words to be good, our thoughts must be good as well. When we are in constant communication with Heavenly Father, our faith and works align more quickly.
