Hi I'm Kayleen

I grew up in Southern California. I love to run. I love to read. I'm a mom, wife, and daughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of nine kids. I play soccer whenever I get the chance. I just ran my first half marathon this year, and hope to run more of them. I have 2 beautiful children with one on the way. I graduated with my BA in English and love to read and learn new things whenever the opportunity presents itself. My favorite season is summer, I dislike the snow unless I'm snowboarding in it. I enjoy spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My family has always been a great support system for me. In High School I didn't have any close friends that were Mormon, and I had to really question and solidify my faith in the gospel. Every time I asked questions of leaders or friends and family everyone was good about leading me to the scriptures and prayer to find the answers. I learned how to truly communicate with Heavenly Father and knew that this was His gospel. I've felt the cleansing power of Christ's sacrifice for us many times in my life and am grateful for that. I served a mission in Uruguay and was blessed to see many lives change as a result of understanding one's individual importance to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that they live and I know that they love us. I know where I came from, why I'm here, and where I'm going. I feel a sense of understanding who I am and where I belong.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday with my husband and 2 children. I teach the young women in our congregation, the 14 and 15 year olds. I love my girls, they are truly my teachers. I attend youth groups on Wednesday evenings in which we participate in community service, or group games. I have had the opportunity to participate in church and community service in many different ways, including holiday food drives, humanitarian aid, and singing in church choirs. We say prayers as a family on a daily basis and read the scriptures with our family as well. Also, every week we have a designated family night in which we spend time together, learning of the gospel, or learning a new skill.
