Hi I'm Aaron

I'm a fun loving guy who's three favorite things are family, friends, and adventure, in that order. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have all sorts of interests and pursuits, and I've tried out a wide variety of activities. I love anime, I do Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu (a martial art), I've participated in cross country and track while I was in high school, I played soccer and baseball when I was younger, I'm working on learning to draw, I do some wood working every now and then, and I'm interested in long boarding and free running but haven't had the time to practice it very much. I'm usually down for pretty much anything, especially if it's something physical. My friends and I go on random adventures all the time, and we can almost always find some way to have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the Church my entire life. My parents have taught me since I was young the importance of the gospel and Christ in my life, but like kids tend to do, I ignored my parents quite a bit back then. I used to hate going to church, and didn't really feel like I was benefiting from what I was being taught. As I got older, I began to notice that I wasn't very happy all that often, and there was always something eating at me. I began to wonder why, and began to think about what I could do to change it. I had always believed that God and Jesus Christ are real, but I wasn't too sure if I believed the church was God's true Church. I figured that either the church is true or it isn't. I knew that it taught good things and that people who obeyed its teachings were good people, so I decided to try it out myself. I began reading my scriptures, willingly going to church every Sunday, praying to Heavenly Father, and doing my best to improve every day. Slowly and surely over time, I've come to know through experience that this is Christ's one true church on the earth. I've prayed and asked my Heavenly Father whether or not it really is, and I have been given an answer through the Holy Spirit that this is Christ's Church, that we are led by a living prophet today, and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and testifies that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that through him I can be forgiven of my sins and return to live with God in Heaven once again.

How I live my faith

Christ taught that the two greatest commandments were to love God, and to love your neighbor. Every day when I read my scriptures, when I pray, when I do a kind deed for somebody, I am showing my love for God by obeying his commandments. I show my love for my neighbors around me through simple acts like listening, giving a smile, offering to help, expressing gratitude, encouraging, and remembering things that are important to them. These simple, daily actions are the building blocks of living a life of faith in Christ.
